The Story

From D-1 Basketball to a Desk on the Beach

Scott “Scotty” Muirhead is a Texas kid who played D-1 basketball, moved to Southern California, and heard Jack Johnson talk about creating more than you consume. That idea stuck.

So he grabbed an old-school desk, hauled it to the beach, and started proving a point: your office can be anywhere. Shirt and tie up top, board shorts below — corporate meets coastline.

What started as a creative experiment turned into a movement. Over 150 remote workers showed up to the first meetup at Law Street Beach. Now cities are calling, permits are being filed, and the desk keeps showing up in places it has no business being — cliff edges, cat cafes, mid-air paragliding over the Pacific.

As Seen In

This sunshine, this energy, I'd be working remotely anyway, at a coffee shop. So it's so beautiful just to be out here by the beach with amazing people.
